Guemisa, official distributor of Novotechnik in Spain
Novotechnik Messwertaufnehmer OHG is a German manufacturer founded in 1947, headquartered in Ostfildern (Ruit), where it develops and manufactures linear and rotary measuring sensors and systems. It has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996.
Their range covers position measurement using four principles: potentiometric (conductive plastic), contactless magnetic (Hall effect and GMR, with multi-turn capability up to 44 turns without battery), inductive (NOVOPAD), and magnetostrictive (NOVOSTRICTIVE). Linear transducers with strokes from 10 to 4500 mm, 360° multi-turn angular sensors, signal conditioners, digital indicators, and accessories are available, with analog, SPI, SSI, incremental, CANopen, IO-Link, and SAE J1939 outputs depending on the series.
Guemisa, as an official distributor, helps you choose the series and order code. There are 113 Novotechnik products with their technical specifications and order codes; all references are in the Novotechnik order reference index.

How to choose a Novotechnik sensor
- Magnitude: linear displacement (stroke in mm) or angle (360° or several turns).
- Measurement principle: potentiometric, non-contact magnetic, inductive or magnetostrictive.
- Output: analog voltage or current, ratiometric, PWM, incremental, SPI, SSI, CANopen, IO-Link or SAE J1939.
- Mounting: solid or hollow shaft, flange, rod, cursor or marker ring.
- Power supply, connection (cable or connector) and IP rating.
- Environment: temperature, vibration and, if needed, redundant signals.
- Each card contains the Novotechnik order code, box by box, with all its options.
- We identify the reference, even if it is old, using the type and number of the item on the label.
- All order references are in one unique index with search engine, linked to the line of each card.
- The accessories (connectors, couplings, positioners) are linked to the sensors with which they are used.
Frequently Asked Questions about Novotechnik
Who is the official distributor of Novotechnik in Spain?
Guemisa (Sensores e Instrumentación GUEMISA, SL), based in Rivas-Vaciamadrid (Madrid), is an official distributor of Novotechnik in Spain. Contact: ventas@guemisa.com · +34 91 764 21 00.
What types of sensors does Novotechnik manufacture?
Linear transducers (potentiometric, inductive and magnetostrictive), angular sensors (rotary potentiometers and non-contact magnetic sensors, single-turn and multi-turn), signal conditioners, digital indicators and accessories such as connectors, couplings and positioners.
What is the difference between a potentiometric sensor, a magnetic sensor, and a magnetostrictive sensor?
The potentiometric sensor measures with a conductive plastic track and a cursor; it provides an absolute measurement and retains its value even if the voltage is lost. The non-contact magnetic sensor uses the Hall effect (360° with up to 14-bit resolution) or, in multi-turn configurations, the GMR effect, and has no mechanical wear. The magnetostrictive sensor (NOVOSTRICTIVE, TH1, TP1, and TM1 series) measures the position of a marker (ring or cursor) on a rod without contact, with unlimited mechanical life and up to 1 µm resolution in the TH1 series. The inductive sensor (NOVOPAD, LS1 and TF1 series) also measures without contact and without wear.
What outputs and interfaces do Novotechnik sensors have?
Depending on the series: analog voltage or current output (also with redundant signals), ratiometric, PWM, incremental, SPI, SSI, CANopen, IO-Link and SAE J1939. Each card indicates the interfaces of its series and its order code.
How does a Novotechnik sensor measure multiple revolutions without a battery?
The MB1-3600, MC1-2800, and MZ1-2200 multi-turn series combine the Hall effect with the GMR effect and measure up to 44 revolutions (15,840°). The True-Power-On system counts revolutions even without power, using patented non-volatile technology that requires no gears or batteries.
How do I identify a Novotechnik reference, even if it's old?
Each sensor has a label indicating its type (e.g., RSB-3600…) and a nine-digit part number beginning with 400 (e.g., 400005617). Either of these can be used to locate the sensor datasheet. You can also search for the code in the Novotechnik order reference index, with or without hyphens.
How do I order a Novotechnik sensor?
By its order code, which is formed box by box: series, size, housing, shaft, signal, power supply, and connection. On each product sheet, the order reference dropdown or the code configurator lists the combinations and references. All are compiled in the index of references.
What protection and temperature range do Novotechnik's contactless angle sensors achieve?
Depending on the series, they achieve IP69K ratings and operate between -40 °C and +125 °C. Many series offer redundant output signals for functional safety applications. The exact specifications for each series are available in its datasheet.
Send us the reference, order code or your application and we will get back to you.
