A/MM90 Multi-Turn Absolute Encoder
- Manufacturer: ELCIS Encoder
- Category: Encoder, Absolute Encoder, Multi-turn Absolute Encoder, SENSORS
On shafts that make several revolutions along their path, an incremental encoder loses its position when the power supply is cut off and forces the zero search to be repeated at each start.
As an optical multi-turn absolute encoder, with LED source and phototransistors, the A/MM90 encodes the position in Gray, Binary or BCD: up to 224 steps in 4096 turns in Gray/Binary and 106 Steps in 1000 turns in BCD. The reading is output via parallel interface, with options for Latch, Zero LED and Multiplexer, or via SSI serial interface (RS422) in Gray code.
It is mounted using a Ø90 mm servo-type flange, with a Ø12 h7 stainless steel shaft that supports 7 kg of radial/axial load, and operates between 0 and +70 °C with IP64 protection on the shaft side (IP65 in the sealed version). Available in guemisa.es.
- Resolution of up to 224 steps in 4096 laps (Gray/Binary) or 106 in 1000 revolutions (BCD).
- Three power ranges: 5 V ±5 %, 8–24 V and 18–28 V.
- NPN and push-pull output stages 70 mA with PTC, or NPN of 10 mA in standard version.
- Shock resistance of 50 G (11 ms) already vibrations of 12 G (10–2000 Hz).
Technical Frequently Asked Questions
What resolutions does the A/MM90 offer for each code?
In Gray and Binary, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 or 4096 steps per revolution and 16, 256 or 4096 revolutions, up to 224 Steps. In BCD, 10, 100, 500 or 1000 steps per revolution and 10, 100 or 1000 revolutions, up to 106. Other resolutions are available upon request.
Can the SSI interface be used with binary or BCD code?
No. The manufacturer states that the SSI serial output is only available with Gray code (or Excess). For Binary or BCD, the parallel interface is used, where the Latch input is standard.
What connectors does it support and with what level of protection?
CM6 and SM6 32-pin (IP65/IP66), CL and SL 10-pin (IP65/IP66), CH 12-pin (IP67) and CDH DB37 37-pin (IP63), with radial (R) or axial output.
