The ELCIS RV1854 is an 18×54 mm incremental optical linear encoder (glass optical scale) with a resolution of 0.5 to 5 µm and an accuracy of ±10 µm. It is an optical linear detector with a photo-etched chrome-plated graduated glass measuring scale (20 µm step), available in various sizes up to a maximum reading length of 2440 mm.
It measures 18×54 mm and has an anodized aluminum cover, and is suitable for multi-axis machine tools, lathes, milling machines, etc. The scale is made of special glass with a coefficient of expansion similar to that of machine tool beds, and the sliding detector head has a special device to maintain parallelism with the glass scale.
