Eddy Current DF Dual 1 Sensor | 12mm | 10kHz
The DF Dual 1 Eddy Current Sensor is an industrial monitoring device designed for applications in turbines, pumps, and metal bearing systems. Its architecture combines an eddy current probe with an integrated processing driver, enabling high-resolution radial displacement detection. The modular design and parallel strain gauge technology ensure a linear response in a range of 0 to 12 mm, with a nominal accuracy of 1%. The radial concentric structure of the magnetic rotor and electromagnetic telemetry allow operation under extreme conditions, from -30 °C to +180 °C at the probe.
The sensor operates by measuring the inductance variation as a function of the displacement of the calibration material (AISI 4140), detecting deviations up to 12 mm with a sensitivity of 1.4 mV/µm. Electromagnetic telemetry enables communication at DC frequencies up to 10 kHz, with an output impedance of less than 50 ohms. The harmonic expansion of the tip material (PEEK) and the stainless steel housing ensure superior thermal stability compared to 95% under operating conditions. The system's reactive inertia is maintained at 0.0017 kg·m², optimizing dynamic response in high-speed applications.
Dual Engineering Audit (FAQ)
The sensor's sensitivity remains stable across a range of -30 °C to +180 °C, with a thermal variation lower than the 5% probe at 150 °C. The PEEK tip material and PTFE cable insulation minimize harmonic expansion, maintaining the nominal 1% accuracy even in high-temperature environments. The sensor driver, operational up to +80 °C, compensates for thermal variations using real-time calibration algorithms.
The RG179 PTFE cable offers high resistance to moisture, corrosion, and extreme temperatures, enabling reliable operation in harsh industrial environments. Its PTFE insulation reduces parasitic capacitance, improving the accuracy of electromagnetic telemetry at frequencies up to 10 kHz. Furthermore, the cable supports custom extensions (MTN/EXTOECP) up to 9 meters, facilitating installation in distributed monitoring systems.
