ATEX EM150EX Contactless Encoder
- Manufacturer: ELCIS Encoder
- Category: Encoder, Incremental Encoder, ATEX Explosionproof Incremental Encoder, Incremental Magnetic Encoder, SENSORS
The EM150EX is an amplifier for magnetic reading heads in an explosion-proof enclosure 'd' certified ATEX (Directive 94/9/EC), with II 2 GD marking for gas "G" and powders "D".
It is designed to be used with ELCIS SM series magnetic heads and AM series magnetic rings. Its painted aluminum housing incorporates ATEX Ex d IIC FL1 series cable glands and has IP66 protection.
It features 32 standard input poles, 1024 pulses, and a maximum output frequency of 300 kHz. It offers 5 V or 30 V line driver outputs and options for a vent and drain valve (P) or anti-condensation coating (G). It must be connected with cable rated for a minimum of 100 °C, with a proper connection of the cable end, and with the cable glands and box cover tightened to the torque specified in the installation sheet. Available in guemisa.es.
- Explosion-proof box with marking ATEX II 2 GD for gas "G" and powders "D".
- Marked Ex d IIC T6/T5 and Ex tD A21 IP66 with maximum surface temperatures of the box 85 °C (T6, standard) and 100 °C (T5).
- Compatible with SM series magnetic heads and AM series magnetic rings.
- Maximum output frequency of 300 kHz with 1024 impulses and unidirectional, bidirectional or bidirectional + zero versions.
- Protection IP66; vent and drain valve options P or anti-condensation paint G.
Technical Frequently Asked Questions
What ATEX marking and directive does the EM150EX amplifier comply with?
Directive 94/9/EC, marking II 2 G Ex d IIC T6 / D Ex tD A21 IP66 T85°C and II 2 G Ex d IIC T5 / D Ex tD A21 IP66 T100°C, with CE type certificate CESI01ATEX036 and product notification CESI00ATEX029Q. Ex: potentially explosive atmospheres; d/tD: explosion-proof enclosure; A21: zone 21, practice A; II: all places with potentially explosive atmospheres other than firedamp mines; C: protection mode according to the maximum experimental gap (MESG), C = the most severe; T5: max. surface temperature of the enclosure 100 °C; T6: 85 °C (standard).
Which sensor elements should the EM150EX be connected to?
The EM150EX is combined with ELCIS SM series magnetic read heads and AM series magnetic rings.
What are the usage and installation conditions for the EM150EX?
It must be connected with cable suitable for a minimum of 100°C, and a suitable connection of the free end of the cable must be provided (Ex junction box or outside of a potentially explosive environment). The cable glands and the box cover must be tightened to the torque specified in the installation sheet.
