Miniature Accelerometers P Series
- Manufacturer: Monitran
- Category: Accelerometers and Vibration Sensors, SENSORS, Without amplification
The P Series (Models P100, P100T, and P05) comprises a range of miniature load-output accelerometers specifically designed for testing applications where sensor weight and volume are critical constraints. Lacking internal amplification circuitry, these passive transducers offer exceptional reliability under severe thermal gradients, operating continuously up to 250 °C. This bare-die architecture also provides a superior frequency response, extending to 20 kHz.
Technically, its competitive advantage lies in the drastic reduction of seismic mass (reaching as low as 15 grams in the P05 model). This extreme lightness minimizes mass loading error, preventing modal shifts in the tested structure and enabling ultra-precise dynamic captures on thin surfaces, turbine blades, or high-speed automotive components.
To accommodate any mounting geometry, the family is broken down into specific profiles: the P100 model with side entry for confined spaces, and the P100T model with top entry to maximize radial compaction. All sensors in this series integrate Microdot coaxial connectors (10-32 UNF) machined from stainless steel to ensure a high-integrity mechanical interface.
- Passive load output (pC/g) which guarantees operability without thermal degradation up to 250 °C.
- minimized structural mass which prevents interference with the natural vibration modes of the part.
- Linear bandwidth up to 20 kHz for high-fidelity analytical capture.
- Integrated Microdot connection for standard compatibility with low triboelectric wiring.
Technical Frequently Asked Questions
Not directly. As passive load output sensors, they do not have preamplification (No Amp). It is strictly necessary to use an external load amplifier (such as the CA003 module) to convert the small load signal (pC/g) to a proportional analog voltage (mV/g) that can be processed by standard instrumentation.
2. Are there any internal differences between the P100 and P100T models?
The piezoelectric assembly is identical, offering the same sensitivity of 20pC/g. The difference is purely geometric: the orientation of the connector.
3. What type of cabling does the P Series require?
Given the very high characteristic impedance of the load signals, the sensor must be wired exclusively with coaxial cables treated for a low level of triboelectric noise, thus preventing movement or physical bending of the cable from inducing parasitic signals in the measurement.
