Vibration monitoring in spindles and high-speed machinery presents significant physical space challenges. Standard sensors add excessive dynamic mass that alters the system's resonant frequency, and their bulk prevents installation within motor housings or shields with restricted access.

This constant-current piezoelectric accelerometer solves space limitations with an ultra-flat, side-exit design. At just 15 mm thick and 25 mm high when assembled, its nominal mass of 30 grams ensures minimal mechanical intrusion. Its key innovation lies in the swivel "Quick-Nut" base (1/2"-20 UNF), which allows the cable exit to be oriented independently of the tightening nut's position, facilitating tight installations without twisting the wiring.

Constructed entirely of stainless steel and sealed to IP67 rating, it is designed to withstand the cutting fluids and oil mist typical of machine tools. It includes a high-strength steel braided ETFE cable and provides a galvanically isolated, pure AC output, preventing harmful ground loops in harsh industrial environments.

1. What advantage does the "Quick-Nut" base offer over a standard threaded bolt?

The quick-release rotating nut allows the sensor to be mechanically attached to the machine without having to rotate the entire accelerometer body. This prevents fatal twisting of the integral cable when installing it in tight spaces or spindle galleries.

2. Why is base isolation crucial in industrial applications?

The galvanic isolation of the base ("Base Isolated") prevents direct electrical contact with the machine's metal casing. This completely eliminates electromagnetic noise induced by ground loops or harmonics from variable frequency drives (VFDs).

3. Is it suitable for spectrum analysis in high-speed machine tools?
