The ELCIS I/104 incremental encoder belongs to the Heavy Duty ATEX series, developed for use in extreme industrial environments where maximum reliability and mechanical resistance are required. This model combines precision, robustness, and ATEX certification to operate safely in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as those found in cranes, steel mills, chemical plants, and power facilities.

Its metal housing, 112 mm in diameter and 94 mm in total length, is made of high-strength anodized aluminum, ensuring excellent protection against dust, moisture, vibrations, and impacts. The hollow shaft, available in diameters from 12 to 16 mm, facilitates direct mounting on motor or gearbox shafts, reducing installation space and coupling wear.

The I/104 encoder offers configurable resolutions from 1 to 2,048 pulses per revolution (ppr) and reaches a maximum frequency of 300 kHz. It operates on a 5 to 30 V DC power supply and features selectable electronic outputs (NPN, push-pull, or line driver), ensuring compatibility with most industrial controllers and PLCs.

Thanks to its sealed design with IP66–IP67 protection, working temperature between 0 °C and +70 °C and an approximate weight of 850 g, the I/104 model guarantees reliable and long-lasting performance in heavy machinery, cranes and systems installed in areas with a risk of explosion.
