Suitable for working environments with explosive atmospheres (except firedamp), with markings II 2 G Ex d IIC T6 Gb and D Ex tb IIIC T85°C Db IP6X.

Resolution up to 4096 steps per revolution (12 bits) in Gray, Excess, or custom code. Versions: Parallel Gray or Excess (GP, EP), serial Gray or Excess (GS, ES, RS422 transmission), and analog current (A) or voltage (V) versions, the latter two only with 15 V or 18–28 V power supply and 4096 resolution. Electronics: NPN open collector, NPN open collector + PTC, NPN open emitter + PTC, and push-pull in parallel version; serial SSI; analog 4–20 mA and 0–10 V.

Aluminum base and cover, stainless steel shaft Ø10 h7 and 1300 g weight. Connection via 1 m IP66 cable (CV1, CV7) or 26c IP65 cable end connector (VM5, TM5, only outside potentially explosive atmospheres). Options: sealed bearings (Z), stainless steel housing (N), tropicalization (G), and custom options (X). Special safe operating conditions (symbol X): cable suitable for a minimum temperature of 100 °C permanently connected to the device, with a suitable free-end connection, and mounting screws of at least grade 8.8.
