Rain gauge PL1000

Rain gauge with a collection area of 1000 cm², measuring up to 300 mm/h of rain

The PL1000 is a Class A rain gauge designed for the accurate measurement of intense rainfall up to 300 l/h. Its cylindrical body is made of weather-resistant anodized aluminum, with a 1000 cm² collecting surface, meeting the accuracy requirements defined by the WMO (World Meteorological Organization).

Inside, it incorporates a highly efficient collection funnel, which channels water into a stainless steel tipping bucket system mounted on a blade-to-blade support mechanism that ensures stability and sensitivity. Tipping is detected by a high-precision reed switch, designed to eliminate false bounces and electrical or mechanical noise, ensuring reliable data even in adverse conditions.

The PL1000 is available in the following versions:

  • PL1000R: with heating system to prevent freezing in cold environments.
  • PL1000-MCS: with electronic module for signal normalization, compatible with 0–2 VDC, 4–20 mA and RS485/Modbus outputs, ideal for integration into meteorological data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
