The ELCIS A/942XS multi-turn absolute encoder is a heavy-duty industrial encoder designed for critical applications where maximum reliability, absolute accuracy, and continuous operation are required, even after power outages.

Thanks to its self-powered magnetic multi-turn technology, the encoder maintains true absolute position without the need for batteries or gears, eliminating maintenance and ensuring a long lifespan. It incorporates an SSI interface with Preset function, RS422 output, and Gray code signaling, guaranteeing robust and stable data transmission in demanding industrial environments.

Its mechanical design, made entirely of AISI 316L (V4A) stainless steel, along with its IP68/IP69K protection rating, makes it especially suitable for harsh environments: marine and naval applications, the food industry with high-pressure washing, chemical installations, heavy machinery, and outdoor areas exposed to humidity, salinity, dust, or corrosive agents.

The encoder offers 13-bit resolution per revolution (single-turn) and 12-bit resolution for multiple revolutions, providing precise measurement of angular position and accumulated number of revolutions. It also features a DIR input for reversing the counting direction and a Preset function for zero adjustment directly from the control system, facilitating integration into advanced automation systems.

Due to its robustness, IP69K water resistance, vibration and shock resistance, and stainless steel construction, the ELCIS A/942XS is an ideal solution for applications where conventional encoders cannot withstand: marine environments, intensive washing processes, mobile machinery, and systems exposed to extreme environmental conditions.
