NESA DVE / DVER Wind Direction Sensor
- Manufacturer: Nesa
- Category: Anemometers and Wind Vanes, SENSORS, Weather sensors
The DVE/DVER wind direction sensor is an industrial weather vane designed for the accurate measurement of wind direction in weather stations, environmental monitoring systems, and industrial facilities.
The sensor uses a high-resolution magnetic encoder based on Hall effect technology, which completely eliminates mechanical friction and ensures high measurement stability over time. Thanks to this operating principle, the sensor is able to detect very small angular variations across the entire measurement range of 0 to 360°.
Its robust mechanical structure in anodized aluminum and stainless steel allows it to withstand severe weather conditions and wind gusts of up to 80 m/s (≈300 km/h), maintaining high reliability even in demanding outdoor environments.
The sensor is available with different output types to facilitate its integration into data acquisition systems, PLCs, or weather stations:
- 4-20 mA analog output
- Analog output 0-2 VDC
- RS485 Modbus digital communication
A heated version (model DVER) is also available with a low-power 5W 12VDC heater, specially designed for applications in cold climates where ice or snow may occur.
The sensor meets the requirements of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the EN 15518-3:2011 standard, ensuring its suitability for professional meteorological applications and wind monitoring systems.
