The Schreiber Messtechnik SM70 LVDT displacement sensor is specifically designed for integration inside hydraulic pistons and is a high-precision magnetostrictive displacement sensor, designed for industrial applications requiring accurate linear measurements under demanding conditions. With a diameter of 10 mm and a measuring stroke of up to 1500 mm, this sensor integrates the electronics inside, making it easy to install and reducing the need for external components. The operating principle of the SM70 is based on magnetostrictive technology, where a magnetic ring generates a wave that travels along a waveguide. The position of the magnetic ring is determined in a non-contact manner by measuring the distance between the ring and the start point of the transducer. This method allows for an accuracy of up to 0.1% and a minimum thermal drift of 0.01% per degree Celsius, ensuring stability over a wide temperature range. This sensor offers various output options, including current (0-20 mA or 4-20 mA) and voltage (0-10 V or ±10 V) signals, to suit the specific needs of each application. Its robust and compact construction, together with IP66 protection, make it suitable for demanding industrial environments.
