Rain gauge PL400
- Manufacturer: Nesa
- Category: Rain, Meteorology - Climatology, SENSORS
The NESA PL400 Class A rain gauge, compliant with UNI 11452:2012, is designed to measure precipitation with high precision and reliability. Its robust structure is made of anodized aluminum with a cylindrical design and a 400 cm² collection area, complying with international standards for meteorological sensors.
Inside, it features a precision-engineered collection funnel that channels water into a stainless steel tilting system, mounted on a blade support to ensure responsive and long-lasting operation. A highly reliable reed switch detects each tilt and is specially designed to prevent bounce and false readings, ensuring accurate rainfall measurement.
The design of its mechanical components has been optimized to minimize any interference with the water flow, ensuring that all precipitation is efficiently concentrated in the central nozzle of the funnel.
The sensor is available in the following versions:
PL400R: with heating system to prevent freezing in cold climates.
PL400-MCS: with signal conversion module compatible with 0–2 VDC, 4–20 mA and RS485/Modbus outputs, ideal for integration into meteorological data acquisition (DAQ) systems and climate monitoring networks.
This professional rain sensor is ideal for weather stations, hydrometeorological networks, environmental studies, and agricultural applications.
