The conditioner MTN/CA003 It is an in-line load amplifier specifically designed to convert the high-impedance (picocoulomb) output signal from passive accelerometers into a low-voltage (millivolt) signal. This device acts as the required amplification stage for the P Series and P1100, allowing the dynamic readings generated in the high-temperature region to be processed by standard data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, or spectrum analyzers.

At the electronic architecture level, the CA003 operates with a predetermined gain of 1 pC = 2 mV and has an input impedance greater than 10^12 ohms. This high coupling impedance is critical to minimize signal attenuation due to parasitic capacitance and ensure strict response linearity from 1 Hz to 20 kHz. The module requires an external DC power supply between 18 V and 30 V to bias its internal circuitry and generate the voltage signal (Amp).

Housed in a 20×65 mm cylindrical enclosure to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI), the device is physically sandwiched between the sensor (outside the extreme heat zone) and the reading equipment. It supports input configuration via Microdot (10-32 UNF) or SMC connectors for low-noise cable, delivering the conditioned analog signal through an industry-standard female BNC port.

  • Charge to Voltage Conversion which allows passive sensors to be integrated into conventional analysis platforms.
  • High coupling impedance to avoid distortions due to the capacitance of the coaxial cable.
  • "In-Line" topology« which facilitates mounting outside the hostile thermal environment of the transducer.
  • Asymmetrical power supply of 18-30V DC for compatibility with standard industrial power supplies.

Technical Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where should the amplifier be installed relative to the sensor?
The CA003 does not tolerate extreme temperatures. It must be located at a safe distance from the heat source (outside the 250°C environment of the passive sensor), connected using a heat-resistant, low-noise coaxial cable.
2. Can it operate with adjustable gain?
The factory default gain is fixed (1pC = 2mV) to ensure maximum stability in loop calibration. Alternative gain configurations are available upon request.
3. Is it compatible with passive sensors from other brands?
Yes, the CA003 can condition the signal from any piezoelectric load-output transducer, provided that the input impedance and gain range are compatible with the sensor's sensitivity.
